Taralga Historical Society

Take a step back in time and visit the charming and picturesque township of Taralga located just 35 minutes east of Crookwell and 2.5hours from Sydney. Taralga was originally planned for workers on the Macarthur Estate Richlands and grants were given for convict labour to shepperd sheep in the 1820’s with a population of just 100 people by 1863 to the latest recording in 2021 of just 463 residents. Still a small community but massive in country spirit and heritage with many historic buildings to take in the history and charm.
