Crookwell is a small town located in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia, in the Upper Lachlan Shire.
Nestled on the top of the Great Dividing Range, just over one hour from Canberra and two and half hours from Sydney, is the picturesque town of Crookwell on the beautiful Southern Tablelands.
Crookwell is renowned for its seed potato production celebrated on the second Saturday in May each year with the Crookwell Potato Festival. Crookwell is the largest township in the Shire and boasts a range of excellent specialty shopping including the must see Lindner Sock Factory.
Crookwell is strategically located on the road from Goulburn to Bathurst and is easily accessed from Canberra via Gunning, from the west via Boorowa and from the east via Taralga.
Located at nearly a 1000m above sea level, Crookwell boasts occasional winter snow, majestic autumn colour and clear, mild summers that make it an ideal location for an extended stay or a quick daytrip to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a thriving rural centre at any time of year.
