Evan Marler & Sally Emerton

Laggan Pantry

After spending several years as professional snowboarders in Canada, USA and the NSW ski fields, Evan and Sally decided to pursue their long time dream of owning their own restaurant and working for themselves. They were looking for something with good soil, a nice climate that had four distinct seasons and close proximity to both Canberra and Sydney."Laggan chose us" says Sally.

Diners are in for a beautiful experience from the moment they arrive. Obi the very friendly Border Collie will greet you at your car, lead you down a garden path boarded by lavender and then escort you to the door. The Pantry has a simple, classic feel surrounded by windows that bring the garden inside and make the space light and bright. Once inside, you are in for a culinary delight made lovingly by Chef Evan. Most of the micro herbs and vegetables served will be cut to order, 'straight to the plate'. "We have very high standards and believe consistency is key, we want people to have a real dining experience" said Evan, “Our philosophy is that of seasonal, local and the freshest of produce. The foundation of our menu is based on what is in season. From surrounding farms, our kitchen garden and local suppliers we bring a modern Australian menu. We also offer an extensive wine list showcasing, local and regional wines and beers. "

"We love to entertain family and friends at home, with good food and good wine, Nick Bulleid's Pinot Noir from Hatherleigh located in Laggan is one of our favourites , we usually end up at the Laggan Pub after a night of entertaining, it has a great atmosphere and we always have a good time".
