Brian, Jackie & Janine Blowes

The Blowes family are as local as they come Brian and Janine are siblings and Jackie is Brian’s wife, Brian and Janine grew up on a property outside of Crookwell, they are well established in the community and love it here. When they saw the motel for sale they knew they could make a go of it. Brian takes care of all things business related, Jackie manages the books and Janine runs the day to day side of owning a hotel, having a background in hospitality. They all work well together and are able to bring their local knowledge and country hospitality to all their guests. “We want our guests to have a great stay, feel comfortable, and know they received good value for money and come back to visit us” says Jackie and Janine.

Upland Pastures is a country motel offering 12 guest rooms either single, double, family or deluxe all appointed with queen beds. The rooms are fitted with extras like free Wi-Fi, kettles, irons, toasters, electric blankets to make their guests comfortable during their stay. The motel can also provide their guests with a fully cooked or continental breakfast that is delivered to your door or a packed lunch so you can get started with your day. Drawing guests from all over Australia they have families, couples and single travellers staying at any one given time. There are always people passing through or visiting family and friends, some stay a night others stay a while.

Brian and Jackie have bought a farm in Crooked Corner wanting to raise their girls in the country, giving them the freedom that country life gives. Janine has moved back to the area after several years away on the South Coast and lives on the premises of the motel. Brian, Jackie and Janine all enthusiastically chimed in “We all just love it here, the country side is so beautiful, the amazing views and rolling hills. Everyone is so friendly it doesn’t matter if you are from here or just moved in, you are always warmly welcomed into the community. There is a great community network here, we support all the local businesses, it’s important to support the local community. “
