Grabben Gullen

Only fifteen minutes from Crookwell is the friendly village of Grabben Gullen. This village gets its name from the Aboriginal word for “small waters” which describes this town perfectly.
The abundance of feeder streams into the Lachlan River has provided a treasure trove for fossickers, where sapphires, garnets, zircons and gold have been found a plenty over the years. Today there is still a public fossicking area under the bridge on the Sapphire Road.
The Albion is the local hotel with cool drinks to accompany a good country yarn. For a very unusual experience, discover the All Year Round Cricket Match on Bulleys Crossing Rd.
So if you are a keen fossicker or just travelling between Gunning and Crookwell, make sure you make a stop at Grabben Gullen.
