Every third Saturday of the month, (except December – in December it is the Laggan Christmas Village Markets) and no markets in January), the Laggan Memorial Hall hosts the Laggan Village Markets, boasting an astonishing array of goods from home-baked cakes to plants and an impressive range of gift items.
It’s a wonderful place to meet some local artists and craftspeople. Intricate metal sculpture, garden ornaments, custom made signs, ceramics, crochet and knitting, ceramics, leather goods and fine arts are all on offer.
With up to 50 stalls at most markets, every market is different, but you can always expect the unexpected. Look out for collectables, second-hand tools, books and all sorts of pre-loved toys. And foodies will find the selection of home-baked bread, cakes and decadently delicious sweets irresistible. You can pick up some local honey, fantastic olive oil and olives, all sorts of jams, jellies, preserves and pickles.
The kitchenette area sells beautiful Devonshire teas and offers a place to sit for a while and marvel at the wonderful bargains you’ve scored!
