Tanjenong camp is nestled on the edge of the Abercrombie River Valley, with spectacular views overlooking the Great Dividing Range. Tanjenong is a 260-hectare property that features the Abercrombie Riverwalk where you can catch sight of plenty of wildlife and unusual species of native flora. Here, you can enjoy starry starry nights, clean clear air, and incredible peace and tranquillity.
ABOUT YIRRI (tent) Overlooking the Great Dividing Range, Yirri is a 5-metre Bell tent and offers a comfortable fit for a small family. Yirri tent is completely surrounded by mountains. The views are spectacular. There is a two-hour-long bush walk that you can enjoy during your stay with us.
ABOUT MABI (dome) Mabi is the Gundungarra word for Quoll of which we have seen four on Tanjenong, near the campground. Mabi is an igloo-shaped dome that overlooks the southern end of the Great Dividing Range.
The 4.5-meter Dome has been built from hand-hewn aircrete blocks and retains an amazing amount of the sun’s warmth in winter as well as cooling down comfortably inside for summer
The beauty of taking the Abercrombie River bushwalk is that you can experience a real sense of the solitary nature as well as the ruggedness of the Aussie Bush. This area has been described as having some of the cleanest air in the state.
